How it Works

For a better user experience use a Computer to access the platform. Also set your browser zoom at 90% or lower.
Once you log in you will be presented with such a dashboard. From a glance, you can see the total number of devices, customers & system users you currently have.
There are 3 major functions embedded on the system so far these are:
- A welcome message
- Renewal reminders
- Monthly airtime top-up reminders
1. A Welcome Message
Once you get a new customer you need to add them to the system.
You can play around with the demo account, add customers & devices, and see how the system works.
To add a customer click on the Customers tab and then the green Add customer button on the top right.
Fill in the customer details.
The username is the full name of the customer.
The account is the details they use to log in on the tracking App or you can enter something random.
Enter their email or a random email and then enter their mobile number. Ensure you provide the correct mobile number as this is the number that will receive SMS messages.
Then click Add New Customer.
The system will trigger a welcome message to the customer like the one shown above.
This message is fully customizable and you can customize your own unique welcome message.
Secondly, you can see the message is sent via a Sender ID in this case it’s SCEPTUREGPS. You will also have your own unique Sender ID so that customers know the message was sent from your company.
2. Renewal Reminders
Once you have added a customer the next step is to allocate a device for them.
Click on the devices section and click on the green Add Device button on the top right.
Provide the device name (Device Registration number), assign the device to the customer via the dropdown menu, choose a platform, IMEI number, device model, and the speeding value (The speeding value can be a random number).
Once done click on the Add New device tab.
The next step is to enter the expiry date of the device or the date when renewal is due.
To do this click on the registration number of the device added.
Then click on the Expires on tab and change the date.
The system will then automatically trigger a total of 5 messages to the customer as follows:
30 days to the expiry date, 7 days to the expiry date, 5 days to the expiry date, 3 days to the expiry date, and the actual date of expiry.
In the above image, you can see an example of a renewal message for Scepture Empire. As previously mentioned these messages are 100% customizable.
However, you can see that the message picks the Customer name, Device name, the Platform, and the expiry date as was provided on the SMS system.
Once the client pays and you change the expiry date the cycle re-starts. If the date is already past the client will not receive any further renewal messages.
3. Monthly Airtime Top-up Reminders
Under the Send Messages tab, there’s a huge Send Airtime Messages button. By clicking this button the system will prompt a message to all customers on the system reminding them to top-up their simcards.
Below is an example of such a message from Scepture Empire.
Again just a reminder the message is 100% customizable.
In case, you have a customer who uses an IoT sim card or you do top-up the simcards for them you can exempt them from these messages.
To exempt a customer from getting airtime messages go to the customers’ tab search for the customer and click on them, then under Message Alerts select No.
How To Get Started With The Bulk GPS System
The 1st step will be to get a Sender ID i.e. SCEPTUREGPS
You can curate your own Sender ID based on your company name so that customers know the messages are from you. A Sender ID is limited to 11 characters (It can be shorter but not longer).
Most people use Safaricom and Airtel numbers therefore it’s ideal to have a Sender ID that can send messages to both Safaricom and Airtel. Each is charged Ksh 5,800. However, you can start with Safaricom and then add the other one later.
To register a Sender ID the following documents are required:
- Company/Business Registration certificate
- KRA Pin Certificate
- An Authorization form (One will be provided)
It takes 24 hours for a sender ID to be processed.
Once the sender ID is ready it will take another 24 hours to create and register a domain and Map the Sender ID to that domain and you will be ready to use your own platform to message your customers.
As a bonus, you will also get access to a normal Bulk system that you can use to message your clients anything else you might want i.e. new deals, promotions, offers, etc. Below is an overview of the system.
Note: The System can send up to 1,000,000 SMSs at any given time! How cool is that!
Pricing
- As already mentioned a Sender ID will cost you Ksh 5,800 per network.
- For the 1st one month we shall provide 1,000 Sms for free. Thereafter you can purchase more units at ksh 0.4 per SMS.
- The Bulk GPS System will attract a monthly charge of KSh 4,500. However, the 1st one month after onboarding is free.
